The little shack nestled in the woods, part of the Long Pond Ironworks historical ruins. I ventured out here with a friend in October, as the foliage was turning colors. Here, in a small clearing in the woods not far from the Monksville reservoir was the old shack.
The old shack is in Long Pond Ironworks State Park, which is located in the community of Hewitt, in West Milford, New Jersey, United States. The park is known for its old stone walls, furnaces and other remnants of a once industrious ironworking community that now sits next to the swiftly flowing Wanaque River.
