New York is known for its old building with water towers visible in the skyline which gives it a unique character and personality. These old water towers are still very much necessary functioning mechanisms for providing water pressure to many of these buildings.
I like the way they look silhouetted in the sky atop the buildings, just charming in my opinion. Today many of them are being covered up in shelters on the roofs of new buildings.
