Artist's Description
Donkey on a dreamy field one summer morning in New York State.
Donkeys have been employed to guard a flock in the fields. Geldings and jennies have been used as protectors. The Donkeys are social animals. They enjoy company and will bond with a group of livestock. The donkeys will try to keep everything very peaceful and safe. When they sense some commotion in the field, they often react by placing themselves between the intruder and their group and will then protect. They might charge at a dog or coyote, pick them up and throw them, bite or kick, whatever they can do to protect. A flock mostly knows that the donkey will protect them and will go to them when they feel threatened. The donkey and the rest of the flock will often be bedded down together for the night.

I have a fascination with abandoned places and forbidden spaces. I think we all do, there is an allure to the mystery and perhaps hidden dangers that abandoned things suggest, and we are drawn to the beauty of decay." **PLEASANTLY STRANGE PERSPECTIVES** ArtTour International magazine cover/ feature December 2011 ABC television network series...
