An American military transport aircraft, The Fairchild C-119 Flying Boxcar got its name from its unusual and large boxy fuselage which allowed it to carry large loads. The aircraft was adapted from the World War II-era Fairchild C-82 Packet, given many needed improvements including stronger engines and larger load carrying capabilities.
This is a very strange looking airplane, but a very interesting one as well. I like the frontal view best.
