In the old days, the Blacksmith would often offer other services such as wagon repair. Here in this photograph of a 19th century Smith, there is a Conestoga wagon in repair. The Conestoga was a very large wagon, and so this shop had to be quite large to accommodate it here.
The tools of the skilled artisan are all about the shop, some revealed by the light of the window.
